Common Reporting Standard

Automatic Information Exchange Model
The Common Reporting Standard is a new obligation, according to which all financial institutions / investment companies of participating countries (of which Greece is one of them) are obligated to collect and then submit their clients’ information, in order to fight tax evasion.

The Common Reporting Standard, known as CRS, receiving information from FATCA, was promoted be the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) as an additional international initiative.

The initiative is based on the deployment of a common international standard for the automatic exchange of information between tax authorities.

Whom does it concern?
It concerns all account holders (Physical and Legal Entities) who have a tax residence outside the country in which they maintain their account, and in this case customers - Physical and Legal Entities - who have their tax residence outside Greece.

Where will the information be submitted?

The Company has a legal obligation to submit this information to the National Tax Authority. The Greek Tax Authorities may then automatically exchange this information with the corresponding foreign tax authorities in which the customers have their tax residence.

What is this information?

According to the law, the information that can be exchanged is:

- full name

- address

- Tax residence Jurisdiction

- Date and place of birth

- Tax Identification Number

- Appellation, Address and Jurisdiction of a tax residence in cases of Legal Entities

- Supervising individual Data (for specific forms of Legal Entity)

- Account / Portfolio Value

- Amounts of interest / dividends, etc. that have been collected / that have arisen
