Deposit Guarantee Scheme
Deposit Guarantee Scheme PEGASUS SECURITIES S.A. deposits the monetary capital of its clients, which are in its position in Greece, in credit institutions bank accounts kept in Greece, under our company, with clear note in the credit institution that it is client capital kept in “client accounts”. Those credit institutions are part of the Deposit Guarantee Scheme (DGS).
According to law 4370/2015, the maximum coverage limit provided by DGS is set at €100.000 for the total of deposits of each depositor in each credit institution, regardless of the number of accounts, the currency or the country of deposit. Furthermore, the law specifies, as it relates to deposits from Investment Service Providing Companies, such as those kept by our company, that the DGS guarantee covers the real beneficiaries of the “client accounts” under the condition that these persons are defined, or can be defined, before the date in which the deposit is deemed not available because of the failure of the credit institution to respond to its commitment. From the above, it follows that the amount of €100.000 includes the total deposits kept by each depositor in the same credit institution, whether the account is under her name of that of a third party, such as “client accounts” held by our company.
PEGASUS SECURITIES S.A. divides the balance of our clients in client accounts in Greek credit institutions pro rata, so that the daily client credit balance is distributed to all of the client accounts of our company. This solution has been adopted by the majority of Members of the Athens Stock Exchange. Therefore, as far as DGS is concerned, it is of no interest to the credit institution from which the client conducts her transactions with our Company or to which the money has been deposited.
